If you use your PC on a more regular basis then you might want to spend that extra $20 and get the AMD A8-3850 as the extra 300MHz core clock speed on the CPU and the extra Radeon cores that are clocked higher do make a rather significant difference. We found this processor to be able to play back Blu-ray discs just fine and if you are building a HTPC or a system where gaming graphics isn’t a concern then it is all you are going to need. The AMD A6-3650 is a robust little 32nm ‘Llano’ APU that can do anything it’s big brother can if you give it a little extra time. We get to review all of the high-end parts that cost a million dollars, but at the end of the day some of the most fun we get to have is with processors like this. We were able to reach 3.1GHz (119MHz x 26) on the A6-3650 before needing to increase the APU voltage though and that is a solid 500MHz overclock. If you plan on running overclocked 24/7 we can see the USB 3.0 issue being a concern to some people. Neither of this were a big deal to us as we had a DVI input on our display and we didn’t need to use any of the USB 3.0 headers for our testing. The first being that analog displays stopped working after a mild overclock and the second being that once the APU Voltage was increased that the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports on the board stopped working. This APU has gobs of overclocking room in it, but we did encounter a couple issues that we have never seen before. We didn’t spend much time overclocking the Radeon HD 6530D GPU, but we increased the clock speed on that from 443MHz up to 600MHz with no issues at all. Overclocking performance on the AMD A6-3650 was nothing short of amazing! We were able to get this 2.6GHz processor all the way up to 3.8GHz with rock solid CPU performance. With the Intel Z68 platform it blazes through many of the CPU benchmarks, but is unable to play game titles at decent resolutions and the GPU is just DirectX 10 capable. The AMD A75 can play decent game titles without a dedicated graphics cards, but some CPU intensive tasks might take a bit longer. At the end of the day it really depends on what you are trying to do with your system as to which one is right for you. The Intel Z68 platform performs better in the CPU tasks and the AMD A75 platform performs better in the GPU tasks. When it comes to price versus performance the AMD A75 ‘Lynx’ platform prices out as being less expensive than its direct competitor for both the processor and the motherboard. The AMD A8-3850 still ruled the roost when it came to GPU performance since it has more Radeon cores that are running at higher clock speeds. It was found to be slower than the Intel Core i3 2120, Core i3-2105 and AMD A8-3850 processors when it came to CPU benchmarks, but it was found to be faster than the Intel Core i3-2120, Core i3-2105 and Core i7-2600K in GPU benchmarks. The AMD A6-3650 ‘Llano’ APU performed exactly how we expected it to once we got it on the test bench. The first two and a half minutes are a tour-de-force of constantly shifting riffs and head-swirling drums, and then the rhythm changes and the guitar lead begins to swirl, backed by a fascinating new drum line. The third song is called “Encircled”, and it’s even more technically over-the-top than “Priest”. His mixture of deep growls and penetrating shrieks adds an element of chaotic violence to the tightly coordinated instrumentals. There are vocals on this song and the one that follows, and Mike Apprich belts them out in tight coordination with the polyrhythmic tempos. Once those foundational riffs are announced at the outset, the rest of the song progresses through one improvisational variation on those themes after another, accompanied by an equally inventive progression in Umar Fahim‘s drum rhythms and fills, and Meshuggah-esque start-stop hammering in the bass line. The song is built around a few dominant riffs - including a memorable 5-note, minor-key passage that reappears often enough to anchor everything else that happens. The title track follows, and it’s more in line with the style of Suspension, except even more assured and cohesive in the songwriting. It begins as a massively heavy, ominous slab of post-rock pounding, enlivened with a recurring melodic lead - and then it comes to a dead stop, followed by a second of complete silence, which serves as a bridge to a completely different rhythm and riff, only to be followed by the return of the original dreadnought avalanche. For anyone familiar with Suspension of Disbelief, it will be a surprise. The band has eased up on the gas pedal but added monolithic, down-tuned weight to the sound. Priest begins with an instrumental called “Ocean of Light”. At least this time there are only three songs to be addressed separately. We find ourselves in a place similar to where Suspension of Disbelief left us - not wanting to review this release song-by-song (which is usually an exercise in tedium) but not knowing of any good way to sum up the music as a whole without sacrificing the fascinating variation that makes the release so noteworthy. This is the kind of music that engages on both a visceral and a cerebral level - it kicks like a pissed-off mule and makes you think at the same time. The more we’ve listen to Priest, the more we’ve found in it, and the more impressed we’ve become. Priest represents another step forward for a band that was already bursting with talent and exceptional creativity. Our confidence in this band’s future was not misplaced. We’ve now been lucky enough to get an advance listen to the three songs on the EP (and a bonus “alternate” version of one of those songs that’s also included). So with all that, it should come as no surprise that we’ve been eagerly awaiting the band’s new EP, Priest, which is scheduled for official release on August 10. And when we finally got to see The Binary Code play live, as part of the METAL AS ART tour in January, we were blown away by the band’s maturity on stage and the intensity of their performance (as we said here). In an interview that accompanied our album review, we found the band’s guitarist and co-songwriter Jesse Zuretti to be an unusually thoughtful and engaging dude. We thought their 2009 debut album, Suspension of Disbelief, was a remarkably accomplished work, both in conception and in execution (our review of that album can be found here). We’ve made no secret about our admiration for The Binary Code. The national average monthly residential electricity bill is $137.45, while the Tuttle average is 14.31% more at $157.12 per month. I'm testing to see if there are other issues. In short, here's what I used to do: I used ssh tunnel for port forwarding and a third computer with a static IP to solve dynamic IP related problem. But, I had access to a third-party server which I used for the connection. So, I have to use "expect" to provide the password in the vncviewer. Making a connection is as easy as entering the ip address or computer name of the VNC Server machine into the Viewer and authenticating with your AD username and password. I want the clients to automatically vnc connect (without user intervention) once server machine boots. Or, the problem I'm trying to solve-vnc client machines might boot before server. I'm trying to move to RealVnc, but this seems like a showstopper. I've used this feature in x11vnc on several rpi projects. But, I want a connection to the vnc server that's shared with several connected vnc clients. When I use the -connect parameter with vncserver, a new server is started. I can't figure out how to do that using RealVnc. It will connect to a vncserver that's already running. You can save a shortcut file with the direct connection information (IP. Its logo, on the other hand, was looked upon as simply a stylised ‘T’ - nothing innovative about that. The emblem’s background is nearly always blue to reflect the colour of the actual Pleiades stars.Īs one of the most innovative motoring companies of the last decade, Tesla has injected much verve to the electric vehicle industry. That large star symbolises Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), and the five smaller stars represent the five companies that were merged to form FHI (now known as Subaru Corporation). ‘Subaru’, incidentally, also means ‘united’ or ‘govern together’ in Japanese. But how is it there are only five stars in Subaru’s logo? The Pleiades is known for being the ‘unification of stars’ - two of the stars, to the naked eye, are so close together that they look like one big star. Subaru alludes to a cluster of stars in the Taurus constellation, known to astronomy enthusiasts as the Pleiades, or The Seven Sisters. Subaru has a constellation-inspired logo. The logo is beginning to look dated but you have to admire the idea behind it. The handshake is a show of trust and satisfaction between Hyundai, the company, and the customer. But the ‘H’ is actually made up of two individuals - a company representative and a satisfied customer - shaking hands. Most people think the ‘H’ just means Hyundai, which is understandable. Hyundai’s logo design may not be as striking as Alfa Romeo’s but it has a clever idea behind that ‘H’. Interestingly, Neptune rules the seven seas, corresponding to - wait for it - the seven brothers in the Maserati family! It may be a mere coincidence, but the fact is nonetheless intriguing. The city of Bologna is the family’s hometown and also the location of the very first Maserati plant. This logo was designed by one of the Maserati brothers his inspiration was the trident in the famous Fountain of Neptune in Bologna’s Piazza Maggiore. The symbol is immediately recognisable as a trident. The interpretation of the image is still being debated, but there’s no denying the Alfa Romeo logo is pretty memorable.Īnother Italian marque that is well known and desired around the world is Maserati, which sports one of the classiest car logos around. This emblem, which supposedly shows the power and strength of the Visconti family during those times, is also the symbol of Milan. The coat of arms sports a Biscione, a type of serpent, devouring an enemy of the time. The symbol was inspired by the coat of arms of the influential Visconti family from 11 th-century Italy. Not many are aware that Alfa Romeo’s logo has a serpent devouring a man! Look closely and you will spot the figure of a man coloured red in the serpent’s mouth. When exploring trimmer options, businesses should be mindful of the practices and policies of different trimmer brands. There are numerous trimmers on the market capable of producing a quality trim, but there is much to consider beyond physical design. Investing in a commercial trimmer is a big decision for any cannabis business, whether they are just starting out or expanding to a multi-state operation. Neither type of trimmer is definitively superior, and it is important to explore different designs and choose the best trimmer for your facility. Tom’s Tumbler Python 200 is an example of a horizontal trimmer model and the Greenbroz Model M is an example of a vertical model. Horizontal trimmers are sometimes referred to as tumblers, and vertical trimmers are sometimes referred to as tabletop trimmers - even if they stand on the floor. There are two general types of commercial trimmers from which cannabis businesses can choose: horizontal feed trimmers and vertical feed trimmers. For businesses that are committed to dry trimming, an automated system can more closely rival the efficiency of wet trimming. Even if your business is not ready to invest in an entire system, it may be beneficial to choose a trimmer with this type of integrative potential. Automated systems can drastically increase the efficiency, capacity, and profits of cannabis businesses. These systems allow for continuous feeds, standardization across multiple harvesting locations, and advanced sorting abilities that separate small and large from medium size buds as well as collect kief. Many brands now offer almost entirely automated systems that replace the labor of a room full of workers. Depending on your specific needs, it may be better to purchase multiple smaller trimmers as opposed to one large bud trimming machine. Some trimmers are intentionally designed to fit through standard doorways or fitted with wheels for easy transportation. Bigger trimmers can process larger quantities of flower more efficiently, but it is also important to consider the specific limitations and needs of your facility. It is wise to consider the potential growth of your company when choosing which commercial trimmer to purchase. For many cannabis businesses, scaling up is inevitable. In response to increasing popularity and state-by-state legalization, the cannabis industry continues to expand. A growing number of commercial bud trimming machines on the market today are capable of trimming both wet and dry flower, which allows businesses to adjust their harvesting methods for evolving demand and optimized profit. Trimmers process wet buds more quickly than dry buds, but dry trimming preserves more trichomes and is known for producing more potent buds that smoke more smoothly. Wet trimming involves removing plant leaves from buds directly after harvest, and dry trimming is performed after the buds have been harvested and dried. Businesses must choose whether they want to trim their buds before or after the drying process. In the harvesting and post-harvest process, precisely trimming cannabis buds is considered by many to be one of the most pivotal steps in the preparation of flower for sale. What to consider before buying your trimmer Wet, dry, or both? |
